The moment we first learned computer science, we felt like we were advancing to the future. Yes, indeed, we are advancing to the future. Without computer science, we can’t be anyone or we can’t get any job nowadays because everything, every field is now based on computer science, or we can say computers.
We are using smartphones, laptops, PCs, etc. However, sometimes we feel like we love to explore more about them. More about how they work, more about how they were built, etc. For example, when we buy an iPhone, Samsung smartphone, Vivo smartphone, etc. sometimes we choose the designs, the cameras and RAM. However, there is one time we talk about the operating system, what software they use, what they can do, etc. This one time is the best time that we can have a talk about the things we are possessing.
“Why I am so interested in AI and Computing”
Nowadays, when we search an item, or something on internet, we use Google or Bing or Yahoo or some search engine with some web browsers like Google Chrome, MS Edge, etc. Say, Chrome, when we search something on Chrome, we see the information about the thing we are searching appearing next by next with title or heading saying ‘AI overview’. That’s the Artificial Intelligence that Google gives to us for easy information searching.
Let’s go back to the time in which I was in bachelor’s and master’s degree. When I was in bachelor degree, I learned about Operating System, Web Development, Computer Architecture and Orgnanization, Software Engineering, etc. These courses (subjects) gave me the freedom, peace of mind and the best of me. In this time, the urge to start building and to start learning more were so big. In master’s degree, I learned about AI. Everything about AI starting from knowledge representation to the door of modern AI.
Writing lines of code, thinking what should I build next time, loving to sit in front of my PC, etc. are the ones that make me love the computing. After my master’s degree, I am in so much love with Artificial Intelligence. The moment ChatGPT was launched, the moment Deepseek was launched, and the launches of many AI systems made me more curious about AI.
Artificial Intelligence is about imitating the human intelligence with Mathematics, Computer Science and Creativity. Let’s say (for example), Tesla is using some system that their cars can see and understand the surroundings. By doing so, their cars can drive themselves, teachnically. And also, many AI systems like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, etc. can also perform things similar to human beings. Wait, how could this possible? Do you ask yourselves? I told you, AI is about imitating our intelligence with Mathematics, Computer Science and Creativity. With these, we can make possible that AI systems can do and perform tasks similar to human beings. However, as from my knowledge and from many good scientists, we are far away from the AI systems that can be exactly like human beings.
These things, ideas, systems, etc. make me more curious about AI. But without computing, AI cannot be there. That’s why, I am so interested in AI and computing.
